Immunosenescence is a word that we must have in our vocabulary as we age. In this article we explain what immunosenescence is and how we can stop it.

What is immunosenescence?

This complicated word is the name given to the gradual deterioration of the immune system caused by the passage of time and the aging of our body.

Our immune system and the elements that compose it accuse the passage of time and little by little they lose effectiveness. Knowing that it is a physiological process is very important to know how we deal with it and to be able to delay it as much as possible.

In these times of pandemic, confinement and collective fear of contagion, we have learned the importance of having a strong immune system to be able to defend our body from attacks by viruses and bacteria. The immune system not only defends us from these attacks, it also defends us from other attacks such as pollution, radiation, or cancer cells.

This process affects the body’s defenses in quantity and quality and will affect us all (healthy people or not) over the years.

Delay immunosenescence.

We are clear that delaying immunosenescence must be a primary objective in our lives.

We have all observed how the deaths of people affected by covid (or the flu) are much higher in the elderly than in the young, or even those affected by cancer are the majority of the elderly. Much of the blame lies with this ugly word that is immunosenescence.

Over time, the immune system loses sensitivity to pathogens (it even affects the effectiveness of vaccines)

Each element of this immune system reduces its number of elements and even alters its functionality (all closely related in turn to the inflammatory state that occurs in aging)

What should we do to delay it?

Healthy lifestyle.

  • There are a series of measures that we all know are within our reach and that we can apply:
  • Perform moderate and frequent exercise.
  • Have a balanced diet rich in fibers.
  • Do not smoke and moderate alcohol consumption.
  • Try to control stress.
  • Have a good night rest.

They are routines that we should try to do and that should not obsess us either but take them into account in our daily lives.

Supplements.

We already have a more or less healthy life, what do we do now? A plausible option is to take supplements, these should be:

  • 100% natural, without chemicals, without added sugars, without sweeteners, without artificial flavors, all of this is true and it is important because these elements help to oxidize and age our body.
  • They must contain natural vitamins and minerals and have not undergone chemical processes for their extraction and fixation. Vitamins A, C, D, E, B6, B9, B12 and minerals such as zinc, selenium, magnesium, iron,…
  • These supplements must contain natural extracts from plants and fruits such as astragalus, echinacea, turmeric, pomegranate, garlic, graviola, … and mushrooms such as reishi, maitake or shiitake.

A supplement that has all these characteristics is ImmunologyPlus Antiox+, 100% natural, chemicals free, sugars free, sweeteners free and artificial flavors free. It has a high content of vitamins A, C, D, E, B6, B9, B12 and minerals such as zinc, selenium, magnesium, iron,…

Its composition is natural extracts of Graviola, Astragalus, Reishi, Turmeric and Garlic.

This supplementation accompanied by a balanced diet, with local products and a healthy lifestyle is the most recommended.
